Ithaka is the new venture from 2017 World Barista Champion, Dale Harris. For 20 years he’s been bringing unique insight and experience to bear in his work, but Ithaka is the first time he’s been able to pursue that vision to its full expression, with coffee sourcing, roasting, brewing and presentation all brought together holistically with an uncompromising focus on maximising potential and quality in both coffee and the way its shared.

We crafted a brand that reflects Dale's desire to celebrate the magic, uniqueness and diversity of coffee – all the qualities he had experienced whilst traveling around the coffee world since his win in 2017. We wanted to be unafraid of revealing the complexity of the coffee process – embracing vulnerability and transparency.
Using a simple flow of line we created a brand that expresses a journey and even the mistakes made along the way. The Ithaka logo is both an 'I' and a primitive journeyman, following, or perhaps leaving, a trail path that marks the way.
A colour system that reflects the country and terroir of the beans, and packaging that serves as an expression of quality, a wonderful result that remaining small-scale can bring. We designed a system that works across wholesale and customer packaging, company literature and menus for their future expansion into brick and mortar.
